Rather than using these fossil fuels, you can cut out the middle man and go directly to the source. Currently, the best method for obtaining energy from the sun is by using solar panels. It is quite simple to install a few solar panels on top of your home or in your backyard. You can then hook these solar panels up to a few batteries. When the sun shines on your solar panels, the batteries will be charged, and then you can use the batteries to power your electronic devices, rather than relying on the standard electrical power grid. This method is particularly useful if you live in an area with abundant sunshine, such as the Southwestern United States.

Another great green energy source is wind power. The wind is always blowing around, and it is a simple matter to harness the wind and turn it into electricity. All you will need is a wind turbine or windmill. Just like with solar panels, you can hook this wind turbine up to a bank of batteries. Whenever the wind blows and turns your wind turbine, your batteries will be charging. This method for obtaining green energy is most useful if you live in an area where there is a lot of wind on a daily basis. Unfortunately, when the wind isn’t blowing, you won’t be able to charge your batteries. If you live in an area where there is a lot of wind, such as the Great Plains region, then wind power can be a great alternative energy source.
